Small Wedding Update

Dear girls...

So far we've booked the church, hall, and photographer. Tomorrow is our engagement session and I'm cheesin' excited! I've been just thrilled to be wedding planning. Thank goodness it hasn't been stressful yet. At the end of the month I'll be going wedding dress shopping with Elizabeth because my favorite designer is having a trunk show in St. Pete! Woo hoo!

Anyway, that's my little update for now. I'll post more later when I get the chance.

I'm bored, I'm so bored

They say that only boring people get bored.

But Sherlock gets bored, so obviously someone is wrong.  ALERT, SOMEONE IS WRONG ON THE INTERNET.

I'm bored, because moving to a new city all by yourself can be very lonely and boring, full of days and nights sitting in your bedroom waiting for something to happen.  There is nothing glamorous about that, but it is the truth.
I can feel the adrenaline through all my limbs, my fingers and toes, but it stops there.  I think I share a problem with the two characters above; if I am not currently invested in some problem, some drama, some high paced adventure, I cannot be not invested in anything.
DC is exciting, surely.  But it is lonely and quiet for a singular individual.  As much as I have friends here, I only have a few and their lives are not affected by my presence.  So anything I want to do is a lonely and calming experience. Boo, hiss.

Sitting in silence has given an opportunity for prayer and healthy reflection however.  I am not getting into trouble.  Truth of the matter though, is that this is because there is no trouble for me to get into, and not because I've suddenly approached sainthood.

On Monday I start and internship on the Hill.  That should definitely change everything, and I welcome the change.  Hopefully the change will be a positive one.  We'll see.

One of my dear idiotic friends once said to me, "It's always 'We'll see,' with you, isn't it?"
To this I reply, "Duh. I can't predict the future, stupid."

New Ventures...

Dear girls...

Exciting new things have been taking place in my life recently. First of them being that I'm moving home. I'm going to commute into Orlando every day for work until I can find something in the Tampa/St. Pete area. Please pray for me. I really want to be closer to my boy and hate being this far away.

I have special intentions that could use prayers.

Also, new wedding date: May 24th, 2014. Mark your calendars. I'm about to put the money down for the church so this is pretty much official, yay!

I've been researching flower girl dresses because, hey, I have my priorities in check. Gianna will be turning 6 the day after the wedding so she's got to have a better dress than you all will, haha.

Just thought I'd give a quick update. I'm busy sewing while at work. I'm such a hard worker; can't you tell?

Barbie

Casino Cruise

Dear girls...

I went on my first casino cruise. First casino. First cruise. I've realized I don't like gambling. I lost $5 but the disappointment is too much for me. When we left the dock and set sail, I was able to see a dolphin!
You could kind of see the fin!
My godmother is in town so we went with her brother. In order to gamble, we had to set sail to international waters. Once the gambling began, there was free drinks!

I do have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone else play. It's nice rooting people on...or watching them fail miserably.
There was a dance floor and a really bad singer singing some songs. Definitely got my Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide, Wobble, and Electric Slide on. Made some black friends who were dancing with me, haha. Then I loved sitting down and watching the tipsy people make fun of themselves. We docked around midnight so I'm tired this morning. Overall, I had a fun time!

Hope you have a good rest of the week!

Love and blessings,
Barbie

Home Sweet Home!

After staying two weeks in Tennessee and a two day car trip I'm finally home in Colorado. After those two days in the car I'm so happy to be home in my bed. The trip wasn't to bad I saw some interesting things. In St. Louis I saw the Gateway Arch.
I also saw a poster with an Unicorn on it with four horns but I didn't get a picture of it because I couldn't find my phone. I saw a billboard with a picture of Jesus's face in a wheat field but I didn't get a picture of that either because I didn't see it in time for a picture. Sorry.

I hope everyone's week as been good if not here's a picture of a hamster wearing a sombrero.

From the One Who is Afraid of Computers...

Hello.

I would just like to say that I miss Patrick. Barbie said that I could say that.

That is all.
